Pilot Knob, Mo. (KFMO) - The Pilot Knob Fire Protection District is asking business and commercial property owners within the district to help improve emergency response by participating in a Pre-Incident Survey program.
The voluntary survey allows firefighters to gather important information about a property before an emergency occurs, including building layout, fire protection systems, utilities, access points, and potential hazards. Fire officials say the information helps improve firefighter safety, speeds up response times, and leads to better outcomes during emergencies.
The district stresses the survey is not a fire inspection, does not involve code enforcement, and carries no penalties or citations. Pre-incident planning is recommended by the National Fire Protection Association and is also considered by the Insurance Services Office when evaluating a fire district’s preparedness. Businesses, warehouses, restaurants, manufacturing facilities, apartment complexes, and other commercial properties are encouraged to participate.
Property owners with questions can contact the district at 573-546-2313.
