Potosi Man Charged With Multiple Sex Crimes Involving Juvenile

Potosi, Mo. (KFMO) - The Potosi Police Department says officers were contacted by the mother of a juvenile victim, who reported that Marvin Hammers of Potosi had sexually assaulted her child.

According to police, the alleged sexual assaults had been occurring for more than six months before the juvenile disclosed the incidents to the mother. The mother then contacted the Potosi Police Department, prompting an immediate investigation.

As a result of the investigation, Hammers has been charged with enticement or attempted enticement of a child, involving an actor 21 years of age or older and a child under 17.

Hammers also faces six counts of first-degree sodomy or attempted sodomy and six counts of second-degree statutory sodomy.

Hammers is currently being held at the Washington County Jail. His bond has been set at $500,000 cash only.
