Potosi Police Department Releases 2025 Year-End Report

Potosi, Mo. (KFMO) - The Potosi Police Department has released its 2025 Year-End Report, highlighting a busy year of public safety service and continued investment in law enforcement resources.

According to the report, officers responded to 13,635 calls for service throughout 2025. From those calls, 1,288 incident reports were generated, covering a wide range of activities including criminal investigations, motor vehicle accidents, proactive patrols, and public assistance. During the year, the department made 628 arrests and issued 1,674 criminal and traffic summonses. The report also notes significant financial support through grant funding.

In 2025, the Potosi Police Department received $177,000 in grants, which were used to enhance equipment and officer safety. Funded improvements included new mobile and portable digital radios, two radar units, upgraded cybersecurity measures, six new in-car video systems, and a new server to store body camera and in-car camera footage. Grant funds were also used to provide overtime pay for officers conducting traffic enforcement.

Department leadership emphasized that serving and protecting the community remains the top priority, while acknowledging that effective policing relies on cooperation between law enforcement and residents. Community members are encouraged to report crimes in progress or suspicious activity, noting that what may seem minor can sometimes prevent more serious incidents.

The report concludes with recognition of the dedication of Potosi police officers and staff, thanking them for their daily commitment to fair, professional, and compassionate service, while pledging to continue striving for improvement in the year ahead.
