Farmington, Mo. (KFMO) - Sergeant Sam Weekley is being recognized for his retirement from the Farmington Police Department following a long and dedicated career serving the Farmington community.
A graduate of Farmington High School, Weekley earned his bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Southeast Missouri State University before beginning his career with the City of Farmington. His service to the city began in 1986 when he was hired by Bud Norman to work part-time in the Parks and Recreation Department. He continued in that role until 1991.
In 1995, Weekley returned to city service as a full-time officer with the Farmington Police Department. Three years later, in 1998, he became a School Resource Officer with the Farmington School District, a position he proudly held for the remainder of his law enforcement career.
Throughout his years of service, Sergeant Weekley made a lasting impact on the community, particularly through his work with students and youth programs, including D.A.R.E. His commitment to public safety and mentorship helped strengthen relationships between law enforcement and the community.
City leaders, colleagues, and residents are congratulating Sergeant Weekley on his retirement and thanking him for his many years of service, dedication, and positive influence on the Farmington area.
