Smoke Report at Park Hills Senior Apartments Prompts Emergency Response

Park Hills, Mo. (KFMO) - Emergency crews were called to the Park Hills Senior Apartments Tuesday afternoon after reports of smoke inside the building.

Park Hills Fire Chief Brad Weiss says the smoke was traced to a non-fire related issue, and no active fire was found at the scene.

Crews quickly assessed the situation and ensured the building was safe.

As a precaution, 13 residents were temporarily relocated by emergency medical services to the Park Hills Public Library. One additional resident was not in the building at the time due to a scheduled appointment. No injuries were reported.

The Park Hills Fire Department was assisted in the response by departments from Bismarck, Leadington, Desloge, and DeSoto Rural. Residents were allowed to return once the situation was fully evaluated and deemed safe.
