St. Francois County Sheriff's Office Responds to 239 Calls Over July Fourth Holiday Weekend

St. Francois Co., Mo. (KFMO) - The St. Francois County Sheriff's Office remained busy throughout the extended Independence Day holiday weekend, responding to hundreds of calls for service across the county.

According to Sheriff Jeff Crites, deputies handled a total of 239 calls during the holiday enforcement period.

The reporting period began at 6 p.m. on Thursday, July 2, and continued through 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, July 5.

Sheriff Crites said the department remained active throughout the weekend, responding to a variety of incidents while working to keep residents and visitors safe during one of the busiest travel holidays of the year.

The sheriff's office encourages the public to continue practicing safe driving habits and to report suspicious activity to law enforcement.
