St. Louis Woman Charged in Jefferson County Business Theft Investigation

Jefferson Co., Mo. (KFMO) - A St. Louis woman is accused of stealing more than $105,000 from a Jefferson County business while working in a management position.

Jefferson County Sheriff Dave Marshak has announced an arrest and charge in a stealing investigation involving a local business.

According to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, 50-year-old Jacqueline Gray of St. Louis has been charged with one count of Stealing - $25,000 or more following a months-long investigation by the department’s Detective Bureau.

Investigators say Gray was employed as a Human Resources Manager when she allegedly created several alias employees and arranged for those individuals to be paid through the business. Authorities also allege Gray increased her own salary during that time.

The investigation reportedly found that Gray used multiple bank accounts to receive payments made to the alias employees. Detectives say Gray was listed as the account holder on all of the accounts involved.

According to investigators, Gray allegedly stole approximately $105,260 from the business between July and October of 2025.

The Sheriff’s Office says the case highlights the extensive work regularly handled by its Detective Bureau. Investigators also credited the cooperation of Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney Trisha Stefanski’s Office during the case.

Gray is currently being held at the St. Louis County Justice Center on unrelated charges. If she is transferred to Jefferson County, officials say she will be held on a $105,260.25 bond.
