Ste. Genevieve Co., Mo. (KFMO) - A Ste. Genevieve man is facing multiple felony charges in two counties after a Missouri State Highway Patrol investigation uncovered child pornography on his cellphone.
According to the Patrol’s Division of Drug and Crime Control (DDCC), 53-year-old Brian L. Webb was arrested following an investigation by the Special Victims Unit (SVU), with assistance from the Farmington Police Department.
Investigators say the case began in October 2025, when the SVU received a CyberTip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. The tip indicated an online user had uploaded a sexually explicit image identified as child pornography. Webb, a registered sex offender, was identified as the person of interest.
On November 20, 2025, DDCC investigators and Farmington Police contacted Webb on Wallace Road in Farmington. During an interview, investigators searched Webb’s cellphone and reportedly found several images confirmed to be child pornography. They also noted that Webb had multiple social media apps installed that were not listed on his required Missouri Sex Offender Registration Form. Webb was taken into custody and transported to the St. Francois County Jail on an investigative hold.
On November 21, 2025, the St. Francois County Prosecuting Attorney charged Webb with five felony counts of Possession of Child Pornography. He is being held on a $150,000 bond.
That same day, the Ste. Genevieve County Prosecuting Attorney filed additional charges against Webb, including one count of Promoting Child Pornography and two counts of Failing to Register as a Sex Offender. His bond on those charges is set at $100,000. The investigation remains ongoing.
