Teen Driver Injured in Crash South of Arcadia

Iron Co., Mo. (KFMO) - A teenage driver is recovering after a crash in Iron County Saturday evening.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a 16-year-old girl from Ironton was injured in a single-vehicle crash on April 18. The crash occurred shortly after 5 p.m. along Missouri Highway 21, approximately three miles south of Arcadia.

Troopers report the teen was traveling north when her vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway and struck a tree. Emergency crews responded to the scene, and the girl was later airlifted to a hospital in St. Louis with what were described as moderate injuries.

Authorities say the driver was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. The vehicle was reported as totaled.
