Arcadia, Mo. (KFMO) - Drivers traveling through Arcadia are being advised to use caution this week as roadwork continues on Thompson Road tied to a recent utility upgrade.
City crews are currently pouring back a section of pavement that was removed to accommodate installation of a new waterline. As part of the restoration process, the eastbound lane of Thompson Road will be closed for a couple of days to allow adequate curing time for the fresh concrete.
Once the eastbound side has properly set, crews will shift operations to the westbound lane to complete the remaining work and fully restore the roadway.
Officials say the project is nearing completion but emphasize that drivers should remain alert in the area, reduce speed, and follow all posted signage as work zones may change quickly.
The city is expected to provide updates as the project progresses toward full reopening.
