Three Injured in Two-Vehicle Crash on U.S. 67 at Route JJ in St. Francois County

St. Francois Co., Mo. (KFMO) - Three people were injured, including one seriously, following a two-vehicle crash Friday afternoon in St. Francois County.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the collision occurred at approximately 2:33 p.m. on June 6 at the intersection of U.S. Highway 67 northbound and Route JJ.

The patrol reported that a 2016 Chevrolet 1500 driven by a 71-year-old man from Cadet was attempting to enter the highway when he failed to yield to a northbound 2025 Chevrolet Traverse driven by a 74-year-old man from De Soto. Troopers said the front of the Traverse struck the right side of the pickup truck.

The pickup driver suffered minor injuries and was transported by the St. Francois County Ambulance District to Parkland Health Center South.

The driver of the Traverse sustained moderate injuries and was transported by ambulance to Mercy Hospital St. Louis.

An 82-year-old male passenger in the Traverse suffered serious injuries and was flown by Air Evac 8 to Mercy Hospital St. Louis for treatment.

Missouri State Highway Patrol reports indicate both drivers and the passenger were wearing safety devices at the time of the crash.

Both vehicles were totaled in the collision and were removed from the scene.
