TIF District in Bonneville Plaza

(Bonne Terre, MO) A Tax Increment Finance District is set to be developed at the Bonneville Plaza. The area, known as a TIF district, would use a portion of the tax generated in the district to develop the property including improvements to infrastructure. Bonne Terre City Administrator, Shawn Kay, says Hubbard Enterprises is set to manage the development over a three year period.

The tax generated from the TIF district would usually go to entities like the St. Francois County 911 Center, the North County School district, and the city of Bonne Terre. Kay says those entities, and citizens, will be able to voice their opinion on the project

Kay says it usually takes about 3 to 6 months to build a TIF Commission. It's hoped new business will be moving into the location.
