Park Hills, Mo. (KFMO) - Communities throughout the Parkland are taking time today to honor the men and women who have served in the United States Armed Forces.
Local organizations, schools, and veterans groups are holding ceremonies and gatherings in recognition of Veterans Day. American Legion and VFW posts say the day serves as a reminder to thank those who have worn the uniform and acknowledge the sacrifices made by service members and their families. The Farmington VFW will have a ceremony Tuesday, November 11 at 11 a.m. at the St. Francois County Courthouse. Many area schools will host student-led programs, and several municipalities are flying flags at half-staff in tribute.
Residents are encouraged to attend events, reach out to veterans in their lives, and reflect on the contributions of those who have defended the country.
