Washington County Man Killed After Mustang Slides Off Wet Road, Strikes Tree

Washington Co., Mo. (KFMO) - A 66-year-old Mineral Point man was killed Friday afternoon in a single-vehicle crash in Washington County.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 12:20 p.m. on Route M near Hedgcorth Lane. Troopers say the driver of a 2008 Ford Mustang was traveling east when wet roadway conditions caused the vehicle to slide across the center of the road, leave the left side of the roadway and strike a tree.

The driver was pronounced dead at Washington County Memorial Hospital. He was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. The vehicle was totaled and towed from the scene.
