Ambulance District Highlights Narcan Training at Farmington Chamber Luncheon

Farmington, Mo. (KFMO) - The St. Francois County Ambulance District shared important information on lifesaving overdose response during Thursday’s Farmington Regional Chamber of Commerce luncheon.

EMS Educator Dustin Tate presented on the district’s Revive and Thrive: Narcan Training program, which teaches community members how to recognize overdoses and administer the opioid-reversal medication. Tate says having Narcan readily available can save lives.

He also emphasized that an overdose can happen to anyone, regardless of background or circumstance.

Tate noted that anyone who completes a CPR class through the ambulance district will receive a free Narcan kit, supplied through the Opioid Settlement Act. Those interested in scheduling a CPR class can call 573-431-0030 ext. 3.
