Boy Drowns at Lake Hannah

(St. Francois County, MO) St. Francois County Law enforcement officials are reporting the death of  5 year old Kaiden Rawley, who drowned in Lake Hannah Tuesday. The Lake is located off Highway 221 in St. Francois County. Information from the St. Francois County Sheriff's Department indicates the incident took place just before 10 o'clock off Fontana Drive. The chain of events that led to the boys death began in a lake lot cabin as he, his mother, and other relatives were sleeping. It's alleged the boy woke up and was able to leave the cabin. His mother tells KFMO B104 News she woke up about 10 am and noticed the boy was missing. She began to search for the child. He was found in a cove at the lake, in the water, and unresponsive. CPR was attempted while emergency medical crews were notified. Rawley was transported to Iron County Medical Center but was later pronounced dead. He and his mother had just moved to the area form St. Louis.  Lt. Matt Wampler, with the St. Francois County Sheriff's Department, says no foul play is suspected. An autopsy is scheduled for Friday.
