Bridge Rehabilitation Project to Begin on Route 47 Over Mill Creek

Washington Co., Mo. (KFMO) - Construction is set to begin next week on the Missouri Route 47 bridge over Mill Creek in Washington County, northeast of Potosi near Cadet.

UDT, LLC, in partnership with the Missouri Department of Transportation, will close Route 47 at the bridge on Monday, September 8, 2025, to start a rehabilitation project expected to last through the end of October.

MoDOT officials say while the bridge’s supporting structures remain in good condition, the 60-year-old bridge deck is in poor shape and requires replacement. The new bridge deck will be wider than the current structure, with updated bridge rails and new guardrails installed at the bridge ends. During construction, Route 47 will be closed at the bridge.

A signed detour will direct motorists to use Missouri Routes 67, 8, and 21.
