County Auditor Managing Federal Money

(Farmington, MO) The St. Francois County Auditor's office will be busier than usual for the next few years. St. Francois County Auditor, Louie Sieberlich, says it's because of the extra federal money, from the pandemic recovery, flowing into the county that he and his auditors must make sure is used properly.

According to Sieberlich the original CARES Act brought in $8 million to the county while the American Rescue Spending Plan is bringing in another $6 million. The Auditors in the office are also the watchdogs for over 30 state and federal grants to help offset county expenditures.
