Desoto Domestic Disturbance Shooter Identified

(DeSoto, MO) Jefferson County Sheriff's authorities say the man killed in an officer involved shooting this morning in Desoto was 27 year old Noah D. Sharp of St. Louis. Jefferson County Sheriff, Dave Marshak, says Sharp was shot and killed by officers with the De Soto Police Department. A press release from the Sheriff's office shows three De Soto officers were sent to a home in the 800 block of Clarke Street shortly after 8:00 AM for a report of a domestic disturbance. Initial reports indicate the officers encountered Sharp shortly after they arrived and he was armed with a handgun. Officers gave Sharp verbal commands to drop the weapon. He reportedly refused, raised the gun and fired at officers. Multiple officers returned fire, hitting and killing Sharp. One officer received a minor injury. The others were not hurt. According to officials with the De Soto Police Department, all three officers are now on administrative leave. Following the incident, the De Soto Police Department requested the Sheriff’s Office perform the investigation into the shooting.
