St. Francois Co., Mo. (KFMO) - The St. Francois County Commission is honoring local veterans and fallen service members by proclaiming May as Veteran’s Memorial Month ahead of the county’s annual Memorial Day ceremony.
Representatives from the American Legion, VFW, Marines, and Army attended the recent commission meeting to accept the proclamation recognizing the sacrifices made by military veterans and those who gave their lives in service to the country.
Sam Hahn is encouraging residents throughout the Parkland to attend the annual Memorial Day celebration scheduled for Monday, May 25, 2026.
The ceremony will begin at 11 a.m. Monday at the St. Francois County Courthouse.
If weather forces a change in plans, the event will instead be held at the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Farmington.
Community members planning to attend are encouraged to bring lawn chairs for seating during the ceremony.
