Summer Safety Tips Shared at Farmington Chamber Luncheon

St. Francois Co., Mo. (KFMO) - Summer safety was the focus at Thursday’s luncheon hosted by the Farmington Regional Chamber of Commerce as emergency officials shared important reminders about staying safe during outdoor summer activities. EMS Educator Dustin Tate with the St. Francois County Ambulance District spoke to attendees about several ways residents can protect themselves while spending time outdoors this summer.

Tate discussed the importance of staying hydrated, avoiding excessive heat exposure, and practicing general outdoor safety habits during the warmer months.

In addition to heat-related concerns, Tate reminded residents to use caution when grilling and to be aware of bees and wasps during outdoor gatherings and recreational activities.

He also explained situations when calling 911 is necessary and encouraged the public not to hesitate during emergencies.

Tate says using basic safety precautions and common sense can go a long way toward helping individuals and families have a safe and enjoyable summer season.
