Farmington Airport Upgrades Temporary Closure

(Farmington, MO) The Farmington Regional Airport will temporarily close later this month for demolition and replacement of the airfield lighting system, remarking of the runway, and removal of the displaced threshold. The closure is planned to begin on March 25, 2024, and is expected to last approximately three weeks. Farmington City Administrator, Greg Beavers, says the project's budget is $745,000.

According to Beavers 90% of the project is being funded through grants from the Federal Aviation Administration and Missouri Department of Transportation. For more information on the airport project, contact the City of Farmington at 573-756-1701.
