Farmington Delegation Visits Jefferson City Over Proposed Sex Offender Relocation

Jefferson City, Mo. (KFMO) - A delegation from the Farmington area visited Jefferson City last week to discuss the proposed plan to relocate Missouri’s sexual offender population to Farmington. The group met with officials from the Missouri Department of Mental Health as well as representatives from the Governor’s office.

Cande Hente, Executive Director of the Farmington Regional Chamber of Commerce, described the meetings as positive.

She noted that the Department of Mental Health is reviewing other possible options.

Local legislators are in favor of the statutory changes necessary for other possible options to happen.

The delegation’s trip coincided with SEMO Advocacy Day.
