Farmington R-7 Selects Dr. Jeri Kay Hardy as Next Superintendent

Farmington, Mo. (KFMO) - The Farmington R-7 Board of Education has selected Dr. Jeri Kay Hardy as the district’s next Superintendent of Schools.

Dr. Hardy will officially assume the role on July 1, 2026.

She currently serves as superintendent of the Gasconade County R-II School District and brings 24 years of experience in education to the position. Throughout her career, Hardy has served in a variety of roles including Parents as Teachers educator, elementary teacher, literacy coach, district data coordinator, assistant principal, and high school principal before moving into district leadership.

Farmington R-7 Board of Education President Angela Hahn said the board is confident in the leadership Hardy will bring to the district.

“The Farmington R-7 Board of Education is pleased to announce the selection of Dr. Jeri K. Hardy as the incoming superintendent,” Hahn said. “Dr. Hardy brings experience, expertise, and energy to the superintendency. The board encourages staff and the community to welcome Dr. Hardy to Farmington.”

Dr. Hardy earned her Doctorate in Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis from the University of Missouri. Prior to becoming superintendent in Gasconade County in 2021, she served as Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment in the district.

Her leadership has also earned statewide recognition. Hardy has received the Missouri Association of Secondary School Principals Emerging Principal of the Year award for the Southeast District as well as the South Central Emerging Superintendent of the Year honor.

Originally from rural Southeast Missouri, Hardy said the strong community support for education in Farmington was a major factor in her decision to pursue the position.

“What drew me to the Farmington R-7 community is the strong sense of support and connection between the district, students, staff, and families,” Hardy said. “It’s clear that Farmington values creating a positive environment where students can succeed.”

As she prepares to begin her new role, Hardy said her early priorities will include building relationships throughout the district, maintaining strong academic performance, and ensuring responsible financial planning.

“I am honored to join the Farmington School District and serve the students, families, and staff of this community,” Hardy said. “I look forward to building relationships and continuing the strong work already happening in the district. Go Knights.”

Dr. Hardy and her husband, Rick, have been married for 31 years. They have two grown children and five grandchildren.
