Pilot Knob Water Line Verification Project Begins May 4

Pilot Knob, Mo. (KFMO) - The City of Pilot Knob has announced that work will begin May 4, 2026, to verify water service line materials throughout the community. The project is mandated by the Environmental Protection Agency, which now requires all public water systems across the country to identify and document the materials used in service lines.

City officials say Pilot Knob secured a 100-percent grant through the Missouri Department of Natural Resources to complete the work at no cost to local customers.

Contractors with Total H2O Solutions will carry out the verification process. Residents may notice crews operating two Vermeer hydrovac trailers, along with two black Dodge Ram trucks and a small Kubota tractor assisting with the work.

Officials say all activity will take place near water meters and is part of a proactive effort to ensure compliance with federal regulations and maintain safe drinking water standards.

Residents are encouraged to be aware of crews working in their area but no major service disruptions are expected during the process.
