Flash Flood Warning Issued

(St. Francois County, MO) Officials with the national Weather Service are issuing a Flash Flood Warning for Southern Saint Francois County,  Southwestern Sainte Genevieve County, and Madison County in southeastern Missouri until 1:45 this afternoon. Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets, and underpasses, as well as other poor drainage and low lying areas can occur.  Some locations that will experience flash flooding include Park Hills, Desloge, Leadwood, Leadington, Fredericktown, Junction City, Cobalt, Marquand, Knob Lick, Womack, Roselle, Coffman,  Mine La Motte, Libertyville, and Doe Run. This includes St. Joe State Park, Hawn State Park, and the Missouri Mines Historic Site. Around 2 to 5 inches of rain have fallen since last night with damage from the storms including downed trees and limbs, torn roofing, and some cracked siding. Early this morning there were over 16 thousand Ameren Missouri customers without electricity in the Parkland.
