Helping Doe Run Family After Fire

(Doe Run, MO) The latest information concerning the Doe Run house fire that killed 5 year old Peighton Peterson Tuesday morning indicates a gofundme page has been created to help the family. Relatives report the child's parents,Tori and James Peterson, are both at St. John's Mercy Burn Unit in St. Louis. James Peterson is said to be in a medically induced coma while Tori Peterson is being treated for her injuries. Doe Run firemen were called to the home in the 2600 block of Maple Street at about 2 am and when they arrived the home was engulfed in flames. Tori and James Peterson were able to make it out of the house. James Peterson went back into the burning structure to attempt to rescue their 5 year old daughter. He was found in the fire and pulled out by arriving ambulance crew members. The home is a total loss and the fire is being investigated by the Fire Marshall. It's suspected the blaze may have started in the kitchen trash. You can donate to the family's medical and funeral expenses at this gofundme site.
