Highway Patrol Thanksgiving Traffic Report

(Jefferson City, MO) Officials with the Missouri State Highway Patrol say there were 9 deaths caused by traffic fatalities in Missouri this past Thanksgiving Day weekend. None of the fatalities were in the Parkland. There were zero boating crashes, zero boating fatalities, zero drownings, and zero boating while intoxicated arrests reported during the counting period. Besides the 9 fatalities Troopers worked 457 crashes that produced 114 injuries. There were 125 DWI arrests and 72 drug arrests. During the 2020 Thanksgiving holiday counting period, troopers investigated 307 traffic crashes, which included 10 fatalities and 86 injuries. Statewide, people died and 379 people were injured in 1,166 traffic crashes over last year’s Thanksgiving holiday. This year's Thanksgiving traffic accident counting period ran from 6 pm Wednesday, November 24th, through 11:59 p.m. Sunday, November 28th.
