Hinkle in Court Today

(St. Francois County, MO.) A Fredericktown man, 26 year old Alexander Hinkle, is in St. Francois County Court today on charges of resisting a lawful stop by fleeing, failing to yield to an emergency vehicle, exceeding the posted speed limit by 26 miles per hour or more, operating a motor vehicle in a careless and imprudent manner, as well as three additional traffic offenses after a pursuit through St. Francois County last week. Reports indicate Hinkle was driving a van south on Highway 67 last Friday when a Sheriff's deputy noticed he didn't use his signal when changing lanes. The deputy also saw the license plate was bent obstructing part of the plate. When the officer attempted to pull Hinkle over he sped away and led the deputy on a chase reaching speeds of 95 to 100 miles an hour. A Desloge Police officer deployed spike strips in the highway yet Hinkle drove around them. He continued to flee south on Highway 67 to Highway H south of Farmington. Hinkle turned right onto H highway and drove at speeds around 70 miles an hour taking AA Highway to Thomas Road. Hinkle stopped the van at Asymmetric Solutions. Hinkle was told to exit the vehicle. When he didn't deputies took him into custody using their tazer to subdue him. Hinkle was booked into the St. Francois County Jail.
