Leadwood, Mo. (KFMO) - The Leadwood Fire Protection District has been awarded a $2,000 Volunteer Fire Department Grant from MFA Incorporated to help enhance its emergency response capabilities.
Captain Joshua Akers and Lieutenant Dylan Miner represented the department at the check presentation ceremony, which was held during the MUFRTI Winter Fire School and Fire Expo. According to the department, the grant funds will be used to purchase a new 20-inch ventilation saw.
The equipment will improve firefighters’ ability to perform ventilation during structure fires, a critical tactic that helps control fire conditions and improve safety for both firefighters and occupants. Department officials say the investment will strengthen their fire control capabilities and support their mission to serve and protect the Leadwood community safely and effectively.
The Leadwood Fire Protection District expressed appreciation to MFA Incorporated for its continued support of volunteer fire departments and its commitment to community safety.
