Missouri Judiciary Warns of Fake Case.net Websites Posing Malware Risk

Jefferson City, Mo. (KFMO) - The Missouri Judiciary is warning residents about a fraudulent website mimicking the state’s official Case.net system that could put users at risk.

According to officials, the fake site, “Casenetmo.us”, was discovered Tuesday afternoon and is designed to appear as though it is operated by court personnel. However, the website is not affiliated with Missouri courts and may expose users to viruses or other malware. In some cases, users attempting to access the site may receive a message falsely indicating a virus has been detected.

Authorities say law enforcement has been notified and an investigation is underway.

The Missouri Judiciary also identified several additional websites using variations of the Case.net name, including:

  • mo-casenet.us
  • casenetmo.net
  • mo-case.net
  • casenetmonet.website3.me
  • www-casenetmo.us

Officials emphasize these sites are not managed or affiliated with the courts, and it is currently unclear whether they present similar cybersecurity risks.

There is only one official Case.net system, a free online tool that provides public access to court case information and documents. It is maintained by Missouri court personnel and can be accessed through the official Missouri Courts website.

Residents are urged to avoid clicking on search engine links and instead navigate directly to the official site to ensure their safety.
