(Jefferson City, MO) Governor Mike Parson is calling for a special session September 6th to pass a new version of HB 1720 which he vetoed during the regular session. During a press conference this (Monday) afternoon Parson said a single bill combining agricultural tax credits and the largest income tax cut in the state's history will originate in the Senate and move the House.
As for income tax credits Parson indicates the state's surpluses have given lawmakers the opportunity to reward Missourians for their hard work.
According to Parson he's calling for legislators to lower the top individual income tax rate from 5.3% to 4.8%. Parson's administration has already cut taxes in Missouri twice.
