Parson Closes Schools Rest of Year

(Jefferson City, Mo) - Schools are closed for the rest of the year.  Governor Parson made the announcement at his daily press briefing on Thursday.

Governor Parson says he is committing that at some point in the year, graduating students will be able to walk down the isle of their respective schools and get their diplomas after 12 years of hard work.  He says it's unfortunate that it can't be done in May as is typically the case.  Parson went on to warn Missourians not to be driving hapharzardly on the state's roads with traffic down considerably.  Troopers have been pulling people over for high rates of speed in excess of 100 mph throughout the state.  Overall, traffic is down over 40% as a result of social distancing and Stay at Home orders.
