Schools Closing Over Virus Concerns

(St. Francois County, MO.) Officials with schools in the MAAA conference are announcing the closure of all schools and preschool programs beginning this Wednesday March 18th with tentative plans of reopening April 6th. The decision was made after discussions with local officials concerning isolation tactics and what's being called social distancing, and to limit gatherings of large groups. The schools in the Parkland that will be closed include the Arcadia Valley R2 district, Central R3, Fredericktown R1, North County, Ste. Genevieve R2, West County R4, the Bismarck schools, Farmington, Kingston, the Potosi schools, Valley R6, and the St. Paul Lutheran School of Farmington. District officials say they are working to address questions concerning kindergarten registration, graduation, and summer school among others. More infromation will be released soon.
