Farmington, Mo. (KFMO) - A 16-year-old Bonne Terre girl was killed Saturday morning after crashing during a police pursuit in St. Francois County.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash happened at 9:21 a.m. on Highway 67, north of Highway 32. Troopers report the teen was driving a 2013 Buick Enclave southbound while fleeing from law enforcement when she tried to avoid stop sticks in the roadway. The vehicle went off the west side of the highway, down a steep embankment, overturned, and ejected the driver.
The juvenile was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Highway Patrol says the teen was not wearing a seat belt. The vehicle was totaled and towed from the scene.
