Two Farmington Fires One Fatality

(Farmington, MO.) A Child is dead after a fatal fire in the 200 block of Kingsway in Farmington. Fire Chief Todd Mecey tells KFMO B104 News his department was called to the scene about 8:16 Friday night. When they arrived heavy fire was seen coming from the home. There were three victims inside. A 2 year old female died in the blaze and an adult male with severe burns was taken to Mercy Hospital in Creve Coeur. A 4 year old male made it out of the home. Mecey says the fire is under investigation by the coroner and the State Fire Marshall. The names of those in the fire have not been released. Farmington firemen were also busy Friday with an early morning fire at a multi-family residence in the 1,000 block of Vandiver Court. Three people were able to escape including a mother and her son. That call came to the department about 5:24. The woman had minor burns on her arm and a male resident was treated for smoke inhalation. The Vandiver Court home suffered extensive damage. That fire is also under investigation by the State's Fire Marshall with the help of Farmington Police. Farmington firefighters were on the scene of both incidents in a matter of minutes and were assisted by multiple area fire departments. Reports also show there have been a couple of facebook GoFundMe accounts created to help cover funeral expenses and things the family lost in the fire.
