Washington County Sheriff’s Office Launching Online Access to Accident Reports in 2026

Washington Co., Mo. (KFMO) - The Washington County Sheriff’s Office will soon make it easier for residents and visitors to obtain accident reports.

Beginning in 2026, the department will partner with CARFAX to offer online access through CrashDocs.org. The new system will allow individuals to look up and download accident reports from any device. A fee will apply for each report. To access a report online, users will need the report number, the last name of a person involved, and the date of the accident, requirements the Sheriff’s Office says are in place to protect the privacy of those involved.

Accident reports will still be available in person at the Sheriff’s Office for those who prefer that method. Officials note that only reports from accidents occurring on or after January 1, 2026, will be available through the new portal. Any reports dated before that must still be obtained directly from the Sheriff’s Office.
