Workforce Development Discussed at MAC Meeting

(Park HIlls, MO.) Mineral Area College Board of Trustee members continue to discuss efforts to institute workforce development programs at the college. The topic was on the agenda of today's Board of Trustees meeting. MAC President, Dr. Joe Gilgour, says he talked with Legislators this week about the importance of bringing more career training to the college.

The new tax rate for Mineral Area College patrons was set at the meeting. It now sits at 46.38 cents per $100 dollars assessed valuation after being approved at the meeting. A plaque was also given to Jerry Whitehurst for his 50 years of service to Mineral Area College. Whitehurst had been with the institution since it originally formed. Whitehurst is responsible for skeet shooting and the range at MAC. He retired several years ago yet continued to spend time working at the college.
