Farmington, Mo. (KFMO) - The Farmington Water Park is now scheduled to open for the 2026 season on May 30, following an extensive renovation project that has caused a delay in its typical opening date.
City Administrator Greg Beavers says construction timelines led to the later start this year, but the improvements aim to significantly enhance the visitor experience. Weather also has played a part.
When the park reopens, guests will be greeted with several new attractions, including three brand-new water slides. A newly constructed slide tower stands approximately ten feet taller than the previous structure, offering riders a more exciting and elevated experience.
In addition to the slides, a larger and more inclusive play structure has been installed. This updated area is designed with younger children in mind, featuring smaller slides with no height requirements, interactive water elements, and an upgraded version of the popular giant water bucket.
City officials say the renovations are part of ongoing efforts to improve local recreational amenities and provide more family-friendly entertainment options for the community.
The Farmington Water Park is expected to operate on its normal seasonal schedule once it opens at the end of May.
