Desloge, Mo (KFMO) - Emergency responders were called to a first alarm commercial fire Wednesday evening at the Pizza Hut in Desloge after reports of visible smoke and a burning smell.
The call came in shortly after 9:15 p.m., prompting a response from the Desloge Fire Department and the Big River Fire Protection District. When crews arrived on scene, they observed light smoke coming from the roof of the building along with a light haze inside.
According to Deputy Chief Rick Whaley, the situation was traced back to a malfunction involving rooftop equipment. Officials confirmed there was no active fire inside the structure.
Firefighters were able to quickly assess the situation and ensure the building was safe. No injuries were reported.
Maintenance crews with Pizza Hut are expected to inspect and address the equipment issue on Thursday.
