Gas Prices Holding Steady, After Slight Drop

Park Hills, Mo. (KFMO) - Gas prices are holding relatively steady nationwide, according to the AAA, as market conditions remain consistent heading further into the spring travel season.

AAA reports the national average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline is $4.09.

In Missouri, the statewide average is hovering around $3.66 per gallon, noticeably lower than the national figure.

Locally, drivers in St. Francois County are paying above the state average with the county average at $3.76 per gallon.

AAA officials say the current price stability is largely due to steady crude oil prices and balanced supply and demand. However, they caution that prices could shift in the coming weeks as travel demand increases and refineries transition to summer fuel blends, which are typically more expensive to produce.
