Gas Prices Remain High Following Iran War; AAA Offers Fuel-Saving Tips

Washington, D.C. (KFMO) - Motorists across the nation are continuing to feel the effects of rising fuel prices more than two months after the start of the Iran war.

According to AAA, the national average price for regular gasoline has climbed to $4.52 per gallon. While Missouri drivers are paying slightly below the national average, prices remain elevated statewide.

AAA reports Missouri’s statewide average is currently $4.15 per gallon, with local averages around $4.14 per gallon.

AAA spokesperson Daniel Armbruster says drivers can take several steps to improve fuel efficiency and reduce costs at the pump.

Armbruster also recommends limiting unnecessary idling and keeping up with regular vehicle maintenance to maximize fuel efficiency.

Analysts say global instability and concerns over oil supplies have continued to put upward pressure on fuel prices since late February, leading to higher costs for consumers nationwide.
