Ameren Missouri Expands Bill Payment Assistance Programs

St. Louis, Mo. (KFMO) - Ameren Missouri customers may now qualify for as much as $1,400 in energy bill payment assistance through a variety of programs.

The expanded support comes after Ameren’s recent $4 million donation to community action agencies and $1 million in aid for victims of the May 16 tornado. Funds are being distributed through partner agencies including United Way, Cooldownstlouis.org, Cooldownmissouri.org, the Urban League, Community Action Agency of St. Louis County, North East Community Action Corporation, East Missouri Action Agency and Central Missouri Community Action.

Available programs include Dollar More, which provides up to $600 annually for households with past-due bills; Keeping Cool, which offers up to $250 in summer bill credits; Missouri’s Summer Energy Crisis Intervention Program (ECIP), which provides up to $300 for customers in financial crisis; and the Ameren Energy Relief Grant, offering a one-time $150 payment. Other options include New Start Energy Relief, which forgives up to $1,000 for customers transitioning out of homelessness, and Veterans Energy Assistance, which provides up to $600 for service members and veterans. In addition to financial support, Ameren is encouraging customers to use its online tools to track usage, manage payments and access outage alerts.
