Another Bonne Terre Inmate Dead

(Bonne Terre, Mo) - Another inmate at the Bonne Terre Prison is dead.  50-year-old Terry Thornton was pronounced dead Wednesday night just before 9:30 pm. The reason behind the death is not being given by the Missouri Department of Corrections.

In a news release to KFMO / B104, the department says an autopsy will be conducted.  Thornton was serving a 10 year sentence for first degree robbery attempt in Pemiscot County.  He reported to prison back on June 25th of last year.  

Earlier this week, Farmington resident 53-year-old Danny Schoonover was pronounced dead at the Bonne Terre Prison at around 5:30 Monday eveing.  He was just transferred to the Missouri Department of Corrections on January 24th.  

Details surrounding his death are still not being released by the department, even though an autopsy has been conducted.  Schoonover was convicted on one count of first-degree statutory sodomy and one count of first-degree child molestation for his role in two incidents that occurred in 2016.
