Farmington, Mo. (KFMO) - The City of Farmington officially dedicated the Mayor Forsythe Public Works Complex during a ceremony held Thursday, marking a significant investment in city infrastructure and operations.
The complex will serve as the central facility for Farmington’s Electric, Street, Water, and Sewer Departments, bringing multiple services together in one location to improve efficiency and coordination.
City officials say the addition of a new building at the complex provides expanded office space and increased storage capacity for equipment used by the Water and Sewer Department, allowing crews to better serve the community.
The facility is named in honor of former Mayor Larry Forsythe, who served from 2017 to 2025 and was a city council member prior to becoming mayor.
Current Mayor Chris Morrison says Forsythe played a vital role in the development of the project, helping guide early planning efforts and pushing forward improvements designed to enhance operations and support city staff.
City leaders say the new complex reflects a long-term commitment to improving public services and ensuring city departments have the resources needed to meet growing demands.
