Potosi, Mo. (KFMO) - Belgrade State Bank is partnering with the Missouri State Highway Patrol to host two free community events focused on fraud awareness.
Corporal Dallas Thompson will lead the sessions, helping those in attendance learn how to spot scams, recognize signs of financial abuse, and know what steps to take if they or someone they know is victimized.
The first event will take place Monday, September 22, at 10 a.m. at Sayer’s Senior Center, 109 Lawrence Street in Potosi. Wise Grounds Coffee Shop will provide pastries and a coffee bar for guests.
The second event will be Friday, October 17, at 10 a.m. at Farmington Senior Center, 607 Wallace Road. Attendees there can enjoy pastries from Wise Grounds along with the center’s coffee bar.
Organizers say scams can happen through the mail, online, over the phone, or even in person. These events are open to the public, and everyone is encouraged to attend.
