Bismarck Fire Protection District Upgrades Tanker with New Fire Hose and Nozzles Through MFA Oil Grant

Bismarck, Mo. (KFMO) - The Bismarck Fire Protection District has announced the successful completion of an equipment upgrade made possible through an MFA Oil Volunteer Firefighter Grant awarded to the department in January.

District officials say new Key Hose Combat Sniper fire hose and Elkhart Brass nozzles were delivered this week and will be installed on Tanker 3170. The new equipment represents the latest effort to improve firefighting capabilities and firefighter safety throughout the district.

According to the department, the upgrade means all three of its firefighting apparatus are now equipped with low-pressure, high-gallons-per-minute water delivery systems. These systems allow crews to move larger volumes of water onto a fire while reducing nozzle reaction, the force firefighters must manage when operating hose lines.

Fire officials say the improvements will help crews attack fires more efficiently while reducing physical fatigue and improving overall safety during emergency responses.

The department expressed appreciation for the support provided through the MFA Oil Volunteer Firefighter Grant program, which helps volunteer fire departments acquire equipment and resources needed to better serve their communities.
