Bloomsdale Couple Arrested Following Child Exploitation Investigation

Bloomsdale, Mo. (KFMO) - A Bloomsdale couple is facing multiple charges after a Missouri State Highway Patrol Division of Drug and Crime Control investigation uncovered child sexual abuse material and evidence of past abuse.

According to the Patrol, 38-year-old Charles R. Massa and 35-year-old Kristen R. Massa were arrested following an investigation led by the Special Victims Unit, with assistance from the State Technical Assistance Team and the Ste. Genevieve County Sheriff’s Office. The investigation began in September 2025, when SVU investigators received a CyberTip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children showing an online user had uploaded several videos identified as child pornography. After an extensive review, investigators identified Charles Massa as the suspect.

On December 8, investigators executed a search warrant at a residence in Ste. Genevieve County, where Charles and Kristen Massa were interviewed. Officers seized an electronic device containing child pornography and located additional evidence connecting the couple to a 2023 child molestation incident. Both were taken into custody and transported to the Ste. Genevieve County Jail.

On December 9, the Ste. Genevieve County Prosecuting Attorney filed formal charges. Charles Massa is charged with two counts of child molestation, two counts of possession of child pornography, and one count of promoting child pornography. He is being held without bond. Kristen Massa is charged with felony endangering the welfare of a child and tampering with physical evidence in a felony prosecution. Her bond was set at $40,000.

The investigation remains ongoing.
