Ste. Genevieve Co., Mo. (KFMO) - The Sainte Genevieve Museum Learning Center is set to present “Bloomsdale: From Township to City” as part of its ongoing speaker series.
The program will be held Wednesday, April 29 at 6:30 p.m. at the Orris Theater.
Deacon Jim Basler and author Laurie Fallert will lead the presentation, offering insight into Bloomsdale’s origins dating back to the 1800s, when it was known as “La Fourche à Duclos,” meaning “the fork of Duclos.”
The discussion is inspired by Fallert’s book, The Flourishing Community of Bloomsdale, and will explore the businesses, people, and stories that helped shape the town’s growth over time.
Organizers say the event will be an opportunity for attendees to reflect on local history, share their own memories, and take part in preserving the community’s story.
The presentation is sponsored by Bloomsdale Bank. Admission is free for museum members, while non-members may attend with paid admission.
