Body of Stacy Jay-Malcom Found in Jefferson County

Jefferson Co., Mo. (KFMO) - Jefferson County Sheriff Dave Marshak has confirmed the discovery of the body of Stacy Jay-Malcom, who had been unaccounted for since her husband, Robert Malcom, was found murdered in their Dittmer home on August 30, 2025.

On Sunday, September 7, a property owner discovered human remains in a wooded area on private land in the 8900 block of State Road WW. The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office was immediately notified, and the Regional Medical Examiner’s Office positively identified the remains as Jay-Malcom on September 9 during an autopsy.

According to Sheriff Marshak, there were no obvious signs of trauma to the body, but evidence at the scene suggests a possible overdose. The Medical Examiner’s Office will make the final determination on her cause of death.

Investigators emphasized that the discovery of Jay-Malcom’s body does not bring the case to a close. Detectives are still reviewing extensive evidence, which could take weeks or even months. However, authorities believe this was an isolated incident, and no other persons of interest are being sought.

Background of the Case
From the beginning of the investigation, deputies considered several possibilities for Jay-Malcom’s disappearance, including the chance that she had gone into hiding or that she had taken medication and remained within walking distance of her home.

The Sheriff’s Office, working with multiple partner agencies, devoted hundreds of hours to the search effort. Operations included the use of drones, helicopters, canines, and extensive ground searches. Investigators also executed 12 search warrants, ranging from property searches to digital evidence reviews.

Sheriff Marshak said that while investigators believe Jay-Malcom may have been responsible in her husband’s death, no final determination will be made until all evidence is fully recovered, analyzed, and reviewed.
